Intel Launches Nettop ng Bayan 2.0

THE Intel and the Commission on Information and Communications Technology or CICT’s program for people to use personal computers has reached another milestone by launching "Nettop ng Bayan 2.0".

The new nettop features a 15inch LCD, Intel Atom N720 processor(primarily found on mobile devices, the Atom processor is lauded for providing high performance at low power consumption), 80 Gigs of hard disk, 1Gig of RAM, a mouse and a keyboard. It has a srp of Php10800.

ASUS Donates Computers Via ADOC 2.0

900 students of Dr. Arcadio Santos High National High School – Sun Valley Annex in Paranaque City will benefit from the 40 computer sets donated by ASUS through the ADOC 2.0. What is ADOC you may ask?The APEC Digital Opportunity Center (ADOC) was initiated by Chinese Taipei in the 2003 APEC meeting in Bangkok to meet the goal of bridging digital divide among APEC Economies. It has collaborated with seven APEC economies – Chile, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, Peru, Vietnam, Thailand and the Philippines since its inception. In the second phase of the project, ADOC asked for the support of private companies, like ASUS, to help gather resources.

The students would really benefit from the new computer sets because they can now acquire new skills that will greatly help them in a now globally competitive world.

Toyota Develops Thought Controlled Wheelchair

Toyota has recently previewed a thought controlled wheelchair that monitors brain activity 125 milliseconds which prevents any lags. Stephen Hawking would love to get his ass on one of these.

According to The Christian Science Monitor:
"After training three hours a day for a week, the system is able to tailor its responses to a user’s tendencies. Imagine a hand or foot movement while wearing the cap, and the system triggers the corresponding response from the chair. Toyota claims up to 95 percent accuracy. As a failsafe, the user can puff out a cheek, triggering a sensor and stopping the chair."

The system would certainly help handicapped people and would spark innovations because of its universal applications.

According to sources I refuse to divulge, the new iPhone 3GS will be available in the Philippines soon! Sony has officially announced the release dates of the brand spankin' new PSP Go.
Specs are:

A 3.8 inch screen
108 grams(43% lighter than the PSP 3000 imagine that!)
Contains a whopping 16gig of internal storage!and is still expandable via external storage(whoa!)
New slide out gamepad.

This Summer: New Black Wii(But Only In Japan)

How come almost all the cool stuff comes from Japan? According to Kotaku, Nintendo will release a black version of the ever popular Wii and will retail for about ¥25,000 (US$260). For the obsessive-compulsive in all of us, do not worry. Good ole Ninty will also sell black versions of Wii peripherals and will cost as follows: Black Wii Remote ¥3,800 (US$40), Black Nunchaku ¥1,800 (US$19), Black Classic Controller Pro ¥2,000 (US$21). My phone gave up on me! Drat what a disaster. I was forced to buy a new one. I got a Nokia 5800. Why? Beats me! I sometimes just buy stuff. Ummm I'd rather not talk about that but what is good about the Nokia 5800 is that it has wifi! And this app is the first thing that I put in it. The brand spanking new Iphone OS has been launched. It works out the kinks that the old Iphone OS users hate(and hate is an understatement). The new OS is like the best credit card, you will always use it and would comment on how good it is.

The New Ipod Shuffle is Button-less

The new Ipod Shuffle has moved its button controls to its earbuds. Yup the Ipod for the budget-conscious has absolutely no buttons but there is still the token hold switch on top. If you are a doubter and says: " I have an old shuffle why the heck would I buy this?", you might try and think twice because the new shuffle has one kick ass feature that solves the problems of a missing lcd screen. What is it? It has a text to speech feature called "Voice Over" which basically tells who is performing what song and tells the songs on your playlist. "He’s good around kids and he always used to try and help out." She also said in a positive light.

New Simpsons Opening Clip

Who does not love the Simpsons? If you don't I hate you man! The animated series has been going for more 20 or so years now and it does not show signs of faltering. To go with the changing times(and the mandated change to digital signals) the show is now on high def! To blend with high def, the opening sequence has been changed and it was a great change. They have added and updated the characters shown in the sequence from the Comic Book Guy to Apu's octuplets. This has been a welcome change for the Simpsons fan in all of us(most of it is just me, heck I even bought the Simpson's album during the 90s).
